In 2024 the competition is held in the nominations «Symphonic music» and «Shore of hope». On the XVIII Open composers’ competition named after Andrey Petrov 121 applications in the nomination «Symphonic music» were received from 42 cities of Russia, as well as from countries of near and far abroad: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Republic of Karakalpakstan, Argentina, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Italy, China, Colombia, the United States and Turkey. In the nomination for young composers «Shore of hope» 24 applications were received from 12 cities of Russia, as well as Belarus, France and China.

The results of the first round of the Competition will be announced no later than July 18.
